DHL, DPD, Hermes or pickup: calculate shipping costs, print labels and track shipments. Automated.

Legal compliance

Terms, right of withdrawal, privacy policy and cookie consent. Your shop is legally sound from the start.

SEO for online shops

Product pages, categories and technical SEO foundations optimized. So your products get found on Google.

Choosing a shop system

Which shop system fits
your business?

There is no single best shop. There is the right shop system for your case. We advise independently on which platform fits your range, budget and growth.

WooCommerce for flexibility and cost control

WooCommerce is the right shop system for businesses that already use WordPress or want a custom solution with full control. You do not pay a monthly subscription to a platform operator, only for hosting and the extensions you need. We build everything from small direct-sales shops to larger e-commerce setups with multilingual product catalogs, B2B areas and ERP integrations. Anyone who sells with specific requirements for legal compliance, custom features or interfaces is usually cheaper with this platform in the long run.

Shopify for a fast start and easy operation

Shopify is the right choice if you want to go live quickly and value consistently simple operation. The platform handles hosting, security and scaling, in return there are monthly fees and in some cases transaction fees. For brands that want to maintain their shop themselves without worrying about updates, this is a fair model. It also works cleanly internationally: multiple languages, currencies and payment methods are included as standard. We set everything up including tax rules, local payment providers and GDPR-compliant texts.

Shopware for demanding e-commerce projects

We recommend Shopware to businesses with a large product range, complex inventory management or several sales channels. The system is legally well prepared and strong in the B2B area. It offers more features out of the box than most competitors but is technically more demanding to run and maintain. For pure direct-sales shops Shopware is usually oversized, while for growing mid-sized companies with their own IT department or agency support it is a mature choice. We honestly assess whether Shopware is really the right step or whether another full-service solution fits you better.

Our recommendation

Short and honest: when we recommend what

If you sell products, already run WordPress and want to save costs in the long run, WooCommerce is usually the right choice. If you want to start quickly, serve international markets or look for especially simple operation, we recommend Shopify. If you work in B2B, with large product catalogs or several sales channels, Shopware is often the most solid foundation. We never make this decision across the board, but in conversation with you and with an eye on your growth.

Features in detail

Features that make a
successful online shop

A shop does not sell through a pretty theme, but through clean features, short loading times and a smooth ordering process. Here we show what matters in day-to-day business.

Payment methods: PayPal, Klarna, credit card and more

The choice of payment methods measurably decides the conversion rate. If a customer does not find their preferred method at checkout, they drop off. We integrate all common providers: PayPal, credit card via Stripe, Klarna with pay by invoice and installments, SEPA direct debit, Apple Pay and Google Pay. For B2B, prepayment and invoice with credit check are often added. Everything GDPR-compliant, with correct storage of every order and automated invoicing.

Shipping costs and rules that fit your business

Shipping costs are a direct conversion factor. Flat shipping rates, free shipping above a certain order value, weight- or quantity-based calculation, express options, self-pickup: we set all of this up depending on range and target audience. For more complex ranges we create shipping classes, so that bulky or hazardous goods get their own rates. Selling internationally also means: mapping shipping zones, customs handling and country-specific tax rates cleanly.

Product management that stays manageable even at 500 items

Well-thought-out product management saves you time every day. Products with variants (size, color, material), bundles, digital downloads, virtual items for services: we configure the backend so you can maintain stock, prices and descriptions quickly. CSV import, bulk editing and interfaces to inventory or accounting save further hours per week. Orders, stock levels and customer data flow together cleanly, without you having to enter data more than once.

Mobile optimization and short loading times

More than two thirds of all e-commerce visits today come from a smartphone. A shop that stutters on mobile or whose buttons are too small loses revenue before it can even see it. We develop mobile-first and check every page for touch operation, readability and tap targets. Short loading times are just as important. Compressed images, clean code, lazy loading and performant hosting bring the shop to good Core Web Vitals, which also improves visibility on Google.

SEO for online shops: get found instead of advertising

Paid ads cost money continuously. Organic visibility builds a second pillar over time that does not need to be financed again every month. For online shops, search engine optimization above all means: product pages with real content instead of manufacturer data sheets, clean URLs, structured data for rich snippets and a category structure that reflects topical depth. We set up all the technical foundations and give you templates for describing new products in a search-friendly way.

An ordering process that builds trust

The checkout is the most important page of any online shop. This is where it is decided whether a prospect becomes a buyer. We build short order flows, show shipping costs transparently from the cart, offer guest checkout without a mandatory account and give clear notes on delivery time and right of return. After every order, automatic confirmation and shipping emails follow, optionally also SMS tracking. Every extra click and every unclear piece of information costs revenue, which is why we check the entire ordering process before launch with real test purchases.

Our process

How your online shop comes to life

01

Requirements and range

How many products? Which payment types? Shipping national or international? We clarify everything in advance.

02

Design and shop build

We design your shop, set up categories and build the product pages. You give feedback, we implement.

03

Payments, shipping, law

PayPal, Stripe, DHL and legal texts are set up. We test the entire ordering process thoroughly.

04

Launch and walkthrough

Your shop goes live. You get a personal walkthrough of product management and optional ongoing support.

The process in detail

Building an online shop,
explained step by step

So you know what to expect: this is how a shop build really works with us, from the first conversation to stable operation after launch.

01

Consultation and concept

It starts with honest advice. We look at your range, your target audience and your internal processes. How many products do you have today, how many in two years? Do you sell to end customers, to resellers or both? What happens after an order in your warehouse and your accounting? From these answers we form a concept that shows you, before the first line of code, what effort is realistic and which features are really needed.

02

Choosing the shop system and hosting

Based on the consultation we recommend the right shop system (usually WooCommerce, Shopify or Shopware) and the right hosting. Both have a direct impact on performance, scalability and ongoing costs. For self-hosting we rely on reliable providers with good availability, a clean backup strategy and a server configuration suitable for e-commerce loads. For hosted solutions we clarify the plan and necessary add-ons right at the start, so there are no cost surprises later.

03

Design, brand presence and user guidance

We design your shop in a dedicated design round. Logo, colors, typography and imagery are implemented so your brand presence is instantly recognizable. More important than any decorative effect is user guidance: where do I find products, how do I filter them, how do I see availability, how do I get to checkout? Each of these steps is thought through and agreed with you. We do not deliver a standard template, but a custom design that fits your business.

04

Product data, categories and content

A shop without clean product data is not ready to launch. We help you build a sensible category structure, import existing products from lists or legacy systems and add missing images, descriptions or attributes. If you do not have product texts yet, we also take over the copywriting on request, tuned to brand voice and search engine optimization. The result is a shop that is not only technically ready, but also ready to sell in terms of content.

05

Payment, shipping and legal texts

In the next step we set up the payment providers, shipping rules and all legally required texts. Terms, right of withdrawal, privacy policy and legal notice we source from a provider specialized in online law, so you start legally compliant. Cookie consent and tracking are set up in a GDPR-compliant way. Before the shop goes live, we run through test orders together with real cards, real PayPal and a real shipping label, so you see exactly what your customers will experience later.

06

Launch and walkthrough of operation

When everything is tested, we go live. For a relaunch we use clean redirects to make sure no rankings are lost. After launch you get a detailed walkthrough: how to maintain products, how to process orders, where to see sales figures. On request we train several people from your team and provide short video guides, so knowledge does not depend on a single person.

07

Ongoing operation, growth and optimization

An online shop is never finished. Ranges change, payment providers adjust their terms, plugins need updates. In ongoing operation we take over updates, security patches and backups on request, plus monthly reports on orders, revenue and conversion. Where optimization potential becomes visible, we suggest targeted adjustments, for example at the checkout, in product descriptions or in the shipping structure. This way your shop keeps developing, instead of freezing in year one.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about online shops,
answered honestly

What does an online shop cost?

Simple shops with 20 to 100 products start at around EUR 3,000 to 6,000. Shops with more complex product logic, variants or B2B features are more in the range of EUR 6,000 to 15,000. On top of that come ongoing costs for hosting, plugin licenses and maintenance. With our website leasing you spread everything across predictable monthly costs.

WooCommerce or Shopify, which is better for my business?

The hosted platform Shopify is easier to start and use but costs a monthly fee and has higher transaction fees. WooCommerce is more flexible, cheaper to run and ideal if you already use WordPress. We advise you free of charge on which solution fits your case better, without any predetermined decision.

How long does it take to set up an online shop?

A shop with 50 to 200 products and standard features goes live in 4 to 8 weeks. For complex requirements (ERP integration, custom checkout design, inventory management) we plan 8 to 16 weeks. We always deliver a first working version that we then refine together.

Which payment methods should my online shop support?

Minimum: PayPal and credit card. Recommended: also Klarna (installments and pay by invoice), SEPA direct debit and Apple/Google Pay. We set up all common payment providers and ensure a GDPR-compliant integration.

Can I maintain the online shop myself after setup?

Yes. Adding products, changing prices, processing orders, everything runs through a clear dashboard. A walkthrough is included. For technical adjustments, updates and security we are ready with our WordPress maintenance service.

What ongoing costs should I expect after launch?

Typical are EUR 30 to 80 per month for hosting (with WooCommerce or Shopware), EUR 30 to 200 monthly fee (with Shopify, depending on plan), fees for payment providers like PayPal, Stripe or Klarna in the low single-digit percent range per order and optional license costs for individual premium plugins. Anyone who does not handle security, updates and backups themselves should plan an additional EUR 70 to 200 per month for ongoing care. We show you an honest breakdown before the start.

Who writes the product texts for my online shop?

You can provide the product texts yourself or commission us. If you write them yourself, we give you SEO guidelines and a template so that title, description and attributes are understood cleanly by Google. If we take over, we write consistently in your brand voice, research suitable search terms and deliver texts that build trust instead of repeating manufacturer data sheets. For very large ranges we also offer AI-assisted text creation with human final review.

Can I migrate my existing shop to webtofly?

Yes. We regularly take over shops from other agencies or from freelancers who are no longer reachable. As a first step we analyze the existing platform, document active extensions and check whether a migration to another shop system makes sense or whether the existing solution should be continued. If we migrate, we guarantee that all orders, customer data and SEO rankings are preserved through clean redirects.

How does SEO work for online shops and product pages?

Online shop SEO works on several levels: product pages with unique descriptions instead of manufacturer texts, clear category structures, fast loading times, structured data for rich snippets on Google (price, availability, reviews) and clean internal linking. We set up all the technical foundations and give you templates so new products are created in a search-friendly way right away. Guide content around your products, which picks up buyers in research mode, is a useful addition.
